If it has not been grown for long, there may be individual branches longer than the canopy; cut off the branches that extend beyond the canopy. Some trunks also sprout buds; remove them by hand as soon as they emerge. For plants grown for many years, the upper branches become very long and the tree shape leans over; the branches should be heavily cut back, and if there are 3-4 nodes of buds visible from the base of the branch, prune off the upper branch.

I. Pruning method for plants not grown for long

After spring arrives, a money tree will have individual branches that grow far beyond its existing canopy. When pruning, you only need to cut off the branches that extend beyond the canopy; this maintains its original tree shape and makes it look fuller.

Also, besides the top branches, the trunk of a money tree sometimes sprouts buds that grow into branches. As soon as they emerge, remove them by hand to prevent them from growing into branches and causing a messy branch structure.

II. Pruning method for plants grown for many years

The upper branches grow very long, and the tree shape may even start touching the ceiling or lean over. In this case, the branches should be heavily cut back; if there are 3-4 nodes of buds visible from the base of the branch, prune off the upper branch completely. With normal water and fertilizer management, in about 7-10 days the remaining branches will sprout new branches again.
