How should the Peace Lily be cared for properly

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Soil: nutrient-rich, loose and well-draining soil, using garden soil mixed with leaf mold and sand as a composite mix; Light: ample light during the growing period, mature plants can be kept indoors in diffused light; Water: keep the potting soil moist but not waterlogged; Temperature: keep above 10°C in winter. Repot once a year, and mature plants only need fertilizing once a month.

1. Soil

It likes soil rich in humus that is loose and well-draining. You can use a homemade mix of garden soil combined with leaf mold and sand. Choose the pot according to the size of the plant; generally a large pot of about 20-40cm is suitable.

2. Light

During the growing period, make sure it gets appropriate light. In spring, when growth is vigorous, you can place the plant on a balcony, by a window, or in another spot with plenty of light. Once it has matured, it can be kept indoors in diffused light.

3. Water

It likes moist, shaded soil. Keep the potting soil moist, but do not let it become waterlogged. If the air is dry, you can spray water around the plant to increase the humidity.

4. Temperature

In winter, keep it indoors and maintain the room temperature above 10°C. In summer, do not let the temperature get too high; above 35°C it will affect the plant's normal growth.

5. Points to note

Repot once a year, placing base fertilizer at the bottom, and try to choose the time just after winter ends and before the spring growing season. For young plants, fertilize generally once every 15 days, preferably with diluted cake fertilizer water; for mature plants, fertilizing once a month is enough.
