What to Do When Aloe Vera Leaves Wither? Causes and Solutions
1. Normal care
(1) Specific cause: It may be a normal situation. When the plant undergoes metabolism at certain times, some leaves may wither, but the number will not be too large. Observe the number of leaves to see whether only a small portion of the leaves have dried up.
(2) Solution: At this point, no special measures are needed; just care for it as usual. After some time, the plant will return to normal.
2. Replenish water appropriately
(1) Specific cause: Aloe vera grows vigorously in spring and summer, especially when evaporation is also relatively high. If it lacks water, the leaves can easily wither.
(2) Solution: In spring and summer, water a little more appropriately. After autumn begins, gradually reduce the amount of watering.
3. Replace the soil or loosen the soil
(1) Specific cause: If the soil is unsuitable, or if the soil has not been loosened for a long time, the soil's air permeability becomes poor, and the leaves can easily wither.
(2) Solution: You can first try loosening the soil to improve its aeration. If it has no effect, then you will have to replace the soil.
4. Disease prevention and control
(1) Specific cause: It may be leaf blight, which is prone to occur from July to October. The symptoms on the lower leaves are severe. It occurs frequently under conditions of high temperature, high humidity, and poor ventilation.
(2) Solution: Remove the diseased leaves to prevent the disease from spreading. Then, spray some Bordeaux mixture or carbendazim.
