What to Do When Aloe Vera Leaves Wither? Causes and Solutions
1. Normal care
(1) Specific cause: It may be a normal condition. When the plant undergoes metabolism at certain times, some leaves may wither, but the number will not be too large. Observe the number of leaves to see whether only a small portion of the leaves have dried up.
(2) Solution: At this point, no special measures are needed; just care for it as usual. After some time, the plant will return to normal.
2. Replenish water moderately
(1) Specific cause: Aloe vera grows vigorously in spring and summer, especially when evaporation is also relatively high. If it lacks water, the leaves can easily wither.
(2) Solution: In spring and summer, water a little more moderately. After autumn begins, gradually reduce the amount of watering.
3. Replace the soil or loosen the soil
(1) Specific cause: If the soil is unsuitable, or if the soil has not been loosened for a long time, the soil's air permeability becomes poor, and the leaves can easily wither.
(2) Solution: You can first try loosening the soil to improve its aeration. If that has no effect, then you will need to replace the soil.
4. Prevent and treat disease
(1) Specific cause: It may be leaf blight, which tends to occur from July to October. The symptoms are severe on the lower leaves. It occurs frequently under conditions of high temperature, high humidity, and poor ventilation.
(2) Solution: Remove the diseased leaves to prevent the disease from spreading. Then, spray some Bordeaux mixture or carbendazim.
