Reasons and Solutions for Anthurium Flowers Turning Black and Withering
1. Replenish water in time
(1) Specific cause: Anthurium needs a relatively large amount of water for its growth, especially during the flowering period. If watering has been forgotten for a long time during the flowering period and the water supply is not sufficient, the flowers are prone to withering and, in severe cases, turning black.
(2) Solution: Water needs to be replenished in time, and the situation may ease. In the subsequent care during the flowering period, the watering method must be correct. During this period, the soil must be kept moist.
2. Place it in a spot with diffused light
(1) Specific cause: During the flowering period, the formation and opening of the flowers cannot be separated from light. If the plant is kept in a very dark place for a long time, the flowers are prone to withering.
(2) Solution: Move the plant to a bright place with diffused light.
3. Provide appropriate shade
(1) Specific cause: This situation is exactly the opposite of the previous one. Long-term darkness is not acceptable, and overly strong light is equally unacceptable. With excessive exposure, the flowers will also become scorched and black.
(2) Solution: Contrary to the previous situation, the plant needs to be given appropriate shade. But at the same time, note that it should not be shaded excessively either; an appropriate amount of light is still necessary.
4. Prevent and control pests and diseases
(1) Specific cause: If some diseases or pest problems occur during the flowering period, they may also threaten the flowers and cause them to wither.
(2) Solution: First, prune appropriately and cut off these flowers. Then use pesticides in time for prevention and control.
