Reasons and Solutions for Anthurium Flowers Turning Black and Withering
1. Replenish water promptly
(1) Specific cause: Anthurium needs a relatively large amount of water for its growth, especially during the flowering period. If watering is forgotten for a long time during the flowering period and the water supply is not sufficient, the flowers are prone to withering, and in severe cases they turn black.
(2) Solution: Water needs to be replenished promptly, and the situation may ease. In the subsequent care during the flowering period, the watering method must be correct. During this period, the soil must be kept moist.
2. Place it in a spot with scattered light
(1) Specific cause: During the flowering period, the formation and opening of the flowers cannot do without light. If the plant is kept in a very dark place for a long time, the flowers are prone to withering.
(2) Solution: Move the plant to a bright place with scattered light.
3. Provide proper shading
(1) Specific cause: This situation is exactly the opposite of the previous one. Long-term shade is not good, and light that is too strong is equally not good. With excessive exposure, the flowers will also become scorched and black.
(2) Solution: Contrary to the previous situation, the plant needs to be given proper shading. But at the same time, note that it should not be shaded too much, as proper light is still necessary.
4. Prevent and control pests and diseases
(1) Specific cause: If some diseases or pests appear during the flowering period, they may also threaten the flowers and cause them to wither.
(2) Solution: First, prune properly and cut off these flowers. Then, use pesticides promptly for prevention and control.
