Take the money tree out of the pot and completely prune away the rotted roots. The rotted lower trunk must also be thoroughly removed so that the wound area has fresh tissue, then replant it back into the pot. After planting, water normally; once new shoots resume growth, apply a small amount of diluted fertilizer. Do not fertilize too early, as it will affect root growth.

1. Treatment method

If root rot occurs, as long as the above-ground trunk has not softened or rotted, it can still be saved.

First, take the money tree out of the pot and completely prune away the rotted roots. In particular, the already rotted lower trunk must be thoroughly removed with sharp scissors or a saw. Make sure the wound area has fresh tissue, then replant it back into the pot.

2. Care after planting

After planting, water normally; once its new shoots resume normal growth, apply a small amount of diluted fertilizer. A newly treated money tree must not be fertilized too early, as fertilizer will affect the growth of new roots.
