Should Yellowing Pothos Leaves Be Cut Off? Causes and Solutions
I. Causes
During the growing season, pothos may occasionally show normal yellowing of leaves due to metabolism; at this time the yellow leaves should be cut off, and new leaves will grow after cutting. If the leaves turn yellow due to root rot, cut off all the yellow leaves and rotten roots, and replant. If the leaves discolor and turn yellow due to excessively high or low temperatures, the yellow leaves also need to be cut off to prevent them from consuming nutrients.
II. Control Methods
1. If it is normal metabolism, just prune normally; do not pull them off directly, but prune from the middle of the leaf stalk.
2. If the yellowing is caused by root rot, cut a 15-30cm length of stem, plant it in potting soil, water it thoroughly, and place it in a cool, ventilated place; once roots have formed, transplant it into a pot.
3. In winter, the plant should be placed indoors at above 10°C to survive the winter safely, and at the same time be careful to avoid too great a temperature difference between morning and evening.
