Safe overwintering of piglets: improving feed quality is key

The overwintering of piglets requires adjusting the feed formula. In the cold season, the energy standard of the daily ration should be raised, such as adding fat, protein and so on to the feed of small pigs and lactating sows; increase the amount of vitamin additives and add preventive drugs such as vitamins and salinomycin, which have a good effect on preventing piglet dysentery and increasing piglet weight gain. Fourth, in the cold winter season, the daily feeding amount and daily feeding frequency of all kinds of pigs should be increased. For lactating sows and piglets before and after weaning, feed with higher protein should be added, and the feeding frequency should be increased by one to two times per day, so as to enhance the ability to resist cold, improve the lactation capacity of sows and the growth rate of piglets.
