Early-weaned piglets: pay attention to the environment and feed additives
After weaning, piglets should stay in the original pen; only after they are basically stable about half a month later may they be moved to another pen and grouped together. Grouping should be based on individual size (difference of no more than 2 to 3 kg), sex, speed of eating, etc., and the number of pigs per pen depends on pen size (keeping the original litter together as one group is best); generally no more than 15 to 20 pigs per pen. Keep the pen clean and dry; do not wash it with water. Keep the temperature suitable (20 to 25 degrees); in winter and spring, pay special attention to keeping warm and preventing cold, and avoid dampness and cold. Train them to defecate at a fixed location, which helps keep the pen dry and hygienic. Add antibiotics to the feed as prescribed to prevent disease and promote growth. High copper can also be added (30 to 200 mg per kg).
