Incorrect feeding methods in free-range chicken raising
To save on feed costs, some chicken farmers choose low-priced, poor-quality feed, and a small number of farmers feed a single type of feed, affecting the chickens' growth and development. Nearly one third of farmers begin feeding raw grain (paddy rice, corn) at 30 days of age, and do not use a transitional method when changing feed. Some farmers control feeding improperly during the free-range period of the chickens, giving too little feed. A small number of farmers also use free feeding, which makes the chickens lazy about foraging, causing feed waste and increasing raising costs.
