Points to Note in Flock Free-Range Management When Raising Chickens in an Orchard
For free-range management, the flock should be released in sunny and windless weather; do not release them in heavy rain, strong wind or cold weather. If the weather suddenly changes, drive the chickens back to the coop promptly to prevent them from catching a cold from wind and chill. In hot weather, release them more in the morning and evening, and let them rest in the shade of the trees or drive them back to the coop at noon. Do not keep them on free range under the scorching sun for long periods, to prevent heatstroke.
