Reasonable adjustment of trough space and water space for broiler breeder chickens
Ensure that chickens have sufficient water space and trough space at the same time, within as short a time as possible during feeding. This prevents some chickens from being unable to get feed, which can cause uneven body weight or excessive deaths. Trough space increases from 5 cm per bird during the brooding period to 10 cm per bird, and after 15 weeks increases to 15 cm per bird. Water space should be no less than 2.5 cm per bird before 12 weeks of age, and no less than 3 cm per bird after 12 weeks of age. Each drinker serves 80 chickens in summer and 100 chickens in winter.
