Slatted floor rearing method for meat-type breeding chickens suitable for specialized households
Slatted floor method for specialized households rearing meat-type breeding chickens
There are generally two ways for specialized households to raise meat-type breeding chickens. One is the slatted floor, mostly using wooden strips or bamboo strips flooring (slatted), which has a low cost, but take care to plane the surface and edges of the wooden or bamboo strips to prevent stabbing the chickens' feet and the occurrence of a higher rate of toe nodules. Bamboo (wood) strips are 2.5 cm wide, with gaps of 2.5 cm. The direction of the slats should be parallel to the long axis of the chicken house. In floor rearing, the maximum stocking density for this type of flooring is 4.8 birds per square meter.
