Stocking density of egg-type breeder chickens during the laying phase
Artificial insemination: males and females are each kept in cages, and the artificial insemination method is used. For small-group cage rearing of breeder chickens, the cage is 3.9 m long, 1.94 m wide, and 0.8 to 1 m high, housing 80 hens and 8 to 9 roosters. With the natural mating method, eggs roll out from the sloped bottom net to the egg collection areas on both sides outside the cage, and no nest boxes are provided. Stocking density: 5 birds per sq m on floor litter, 7 to 9 birds per sq m on wire flooring, and 20 birds per sq m in cages.
