Hole Expansion and Drainage/Irrigation of Large-Fruit Black-Seed Sweet Pomegranate
After the fruit is harvested, hole expansion with deep digging and green manure incorporation should be carried out. Leguminous crops or green manure can be planted between the orchard rows; in the high-temperature and dry season from June to August, they should be cut and laid as mulch within the tree disk, and then turned into the soil during hole expansion after fruit harvest. In the early growth stage of the pomegranate, especially in the dry season of early spring, irrigation must be carried out to reduce fruit drop and promote new shoot growth. In the rainy season after the beginning of summer, attention should be paid to drainage to prevent waterlogging damage. During the fruit ripening stage, water should be properly controlled to help improve fruit quality and promote flower bud differentiation.
