Pig farming technical service special thread
In the process of pig farming, when it comes to the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, tools, and utensils, whether it is water, electricity, gas equipment, or various vehicles, if you encounter difficulties, just say a word here. It is best to have photos and detailed descriptions. I will help you as much as I know!

For example: the rolling curtain machine used in northern greenhouses,
1. The motor is running, but the curtain rod is not turning. At this time, check the locking pin on the connecting shaft between the motor and the reducer to see whether it has worn flat or fallen into the groove. If it is worn flat, replace it. If it has fallen into the groove and can still be used, just tack it with an electric welder.
2. After the reversing switch is turned on, there is a buzzing sound but the motor does not turn. It is probably missing one phase. Check whether the wiring screws in the reversing switch are loose, whether the three contact points can close, and then check whether the main switch fuse has blown.
3. After closing the switch, there is no sound at all. It is probably that two phases are disconnected, or there is no power. If you have used it before, once I give you this hint, you will understand.
--------------------------------------
Now let's talk about a disinfection machine. I use a high-pressure car wash pump.
1. The motor runs, and you feel pressure in the gun in your hand, but it does not spray. At this time, remove the nozzle. It is probably clogged. Clear it out.
2. The motor runs intermittently and feels weak. It is probably that the starting capacitor is broken. Just replace it.
3. There is no response after power is connected. Use a multimeter to test it. If it does not conduct, the coil is burned out and must be sent to a professional repair shop for repair.
4. After running for a period of time, it suddenly stops. Do not be afraid. It may be overloaded, and the protection device in the motor has kicked in. Turn off the power and wait a while, then try again. If the motor is not burned out, it will run.
--------------------------------------
I use a high-pressure car wash pump, but the water pressure is not enough. What is the situation? Thank you.

1. Adjust the pressure regulating valve beside the water outlet. 2. The rubber sleeve of the piston inside may have aged. Replace it.

Common faults of pregnancy testing devices
For machines that use ultrasound to detect fluid in the uterus, the following common faults can be maintained by yourself:
1. After the power switch is turned on, the indicator light does not light up or flashes. This reminds you that there is no power, so charge the machine.
2. After turning on the power, there is a long continuous sound (the pregnancy sound). This reminds you that the sensor probe and the main unit are not connected. The most likely cause is a broken contact point inside the cable (that is, the wire clips at both ends of the signal transmission line). Just find a way to reconnect it.
3. When the probe touches the sow's skin, there is no sound at all. Hehe, did you forget to apply oil to the probe?
4. When testing a boar, there is also a long pregnancy sound. That is because you detected the pig's bladder position on the left side of the boar, so of course there is sound. Be sure to read the manual carefully: it is on the right side of the sow, above the mammary line in front of the second-to-last teat, and scan forward at a 45-degree angle to the belly.

OP, I would like to ask a question:
When we use the washing machine to flush the pens, the motor is easily burned out. When opened, all the coils are scorched. Is this caused by excessive current or a problem with the motor itself? Thank you!

Possible causes:
1. The motor itself, especially products from some small factories. The copper wire used for winding the coil is not thick enough, and the insulating varnish is of poor quality. I once found that an electric drill bought by a purchaser burned out completely in less than 5 minutes. The wire in it was too thin.
2. Is the cooling fan impeller broken or is its speed insufficient (not fixed)? During operation, check the fan impeller speed.
3. The pressure has been adjusted too high during long-term flushing, causing excessive motor load. Reduce the pressure; move the machine or turn off the switch when flushing is temporarily not needed.
4. The motor seal is poor or there was improper human operation, and water entered the motor. Pay attention to waterproofing.
5. After long-term use, there is no oil left in the motor bearings, and friction overheating causes the coils to scorch. They should be maintained regularly with high-speed lubricating oil.

The most valuable people in the animal husbandry industry are those who have ideas, understand theory and technology, and are also willing to bend down and get their hands dirty. Helping others is the foundation of happiness. I pay tribute to and learn from the OP.

Hehe, it seems we have met a really good person. But surely he is not an all-knowing expert, right?

To be honest, this is a pretty good intention. I hope everyone contributes a little bit of strength, and this forum will become more lively.
