What is the maximum amount of meat meal that can be added to fish feed?
Meat meal, how much can you add to fish feed?
Meat meal, because of its safety and absorbability, has always been a controversial ingredient in aquaculture! Many experts and formulators recommend using less of it, or not using it at all!
But now under cost pressure, meat meal, because of its high protein and low price, has certain advantages in high-protein aquaculture feed. Here I want to discuss with everyone just how much use value meat meal really has!
Personally, I think good meat meal (cp: above 70; VBN<150;无参假的肉粉可以代替一部分鱼粉使用),在混养鱼料中使用可以达到5个点!

Might as well use silkworm pupae!!!!!!!!

I agree with the original poster's view, don't use it for young fish

Thank you

4% is about right.....

Even very good silkworm pupae are best used within 5%, theoretically it is a bit exaggerated. The price has never had any advantage.

I have seen self-mixed feed use silkworm pupae at over 20%. There were completely no side effects.
When I use it, in crucian carp feed I use 2% fish meal and 8% silkworm pupae

Adding 20% is also fine, scales fall off! The taste is also poor. Our goal is fast growth, how much to add must be subordinated to the highest goal.

Meat meal quality control is difficult.

If VBN and microscopic examination can be controlled, using 5-10% is no problem.
