Why do loaches in Lianyungang change color?
Lianyungang loach color change
Hello, teachers! I would like to ask about the color change of loach feed!
The company's salespeople report that the loaches fed with our feed change color slowly. I would like to ask, what factors are related to the color change of loaches?
Thank you!

Temperature, light, and water quality

Other manufacturers' loaches change color relatively faster, what is going on????

Asking the original poster: do you want to change from normal body color to abnormal? Or the opposite direction? If it is already normal color, and you just cater to the market for the moment without properly guiding consumers' understanding, then the loach farming that has just started will not go far; if the current color is abnormal, you can start with the farming water quality, water depth, light, density, type and thickness of bottom mud, and for the feed, you should first adjust the macro-ingredient ratio, then consider the proportion of various natural pigment sources brought by the feed ingredients. Trying to use added synthetic pigments or adding some chemical agent to the water is not advisable. It is better not to follow the old path of yellow catfish, turbot, and the like.

I need to go take a look first. To see whether this color change is a normal phenomenon.

Feed oil, vitamins, water quality, etc. are all related.

There is no other problem, feed ingredients have a lot to do with it. You can use corn by-products, such as DDGS, corn germ meal

I went to take a look yesterday and found that the farmers there have such requirements for the color of the loaches they farm. Their fry are mainly collected from Henan yellow loach. Generally, after the fry are stocked and domesticated and farmed for a period of time, some loaches will slowly fade from blue-green, showing a pinkish tender color, with the color becoming lighter, and in sunlight they are lighter in color than wild loaches. The farmers there have already formed such a concept: if someone's loaches first change from blue-gray to pinkish tender color, it means the loaches are growing fast and that person's feed is good!!
Now I have this question: is this a normal color change, does the Henan yellow loach have such a stage during growth, and is the timing of the color change normal? What should we pay attention to in the formula!!
It is a bit of a pity that there are no photos, I forgot to bring a camera, haha!!

I hope everyone will post more problems from actual production, discuss together, and improve together.

Can a friend from Henan come out and answer?

This is mainly because Korean customers prefer this kind of color-changed loach! During the rapid growth period of yellow loach, if all aspects are normal, its color change will also be normal. Mainly focus on the selection and quality of macro-ingredients!

You said there is a choice to be made in macro-ingredients, could you give some guidance?
Also, are there any additives such as colorants added?? Thanks!!

Quoted from cwq23452 posted on 2009-8-11 09:31I am not very familiar with this either, mainly listening to what the salespeople below report. They report that other manufacturers' loaches change color faster, about half a month, but our feed takes one month. However, the final growth performance is still acceptable.

Quoted from ligye123 posted on 2009-8-19 10:32Thanks to this friend for the information, I feel you are also working in this area. Right, it is mainly Korean customers who prefer this kind of loach with color change. Moreover, the price of this kind of loach is also higher than that of loaches with ordinary color.
