What are the detection methods for mycotoxins?
Detection methods for mycotoxins

For example, the detection of aflatoxin:
Detection principle: The aflatoxin detection kit is based on the competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Aflatoxin in the crushed sample is extracted by shaking with methanol/water, the aqueous phase extract is filtered, and then immunological detection is carried out. The enzyme conjugate of aflatoxin is added to the test wells already containing the standard or sample. After the antibody is added, the reaction begins. The sample and the enzyme conjugate compete to bind to the antibody coated on the microwells. After 10 minutes of incubation, the solution in the wells is discarded, and the unbound aflatoxin and enzyme conjugate in the microwells are washed away. A colorless substrate solution is added, and after 10 minutes of incubation, all bound enzyme conjugate converts the substrate into a blue substance. Stop solution is added, and then the absorbance value is read. By comparing the absorbance values of samples of unknown concentration with those of the standards, the aflatoxin concentration of the sample can be obtained.

◆ Mycotoxin analysis and testing
Mycotoxins are toxic mold metabolites that exist in a variety of grains, feeds, foods and beverages. Some compounds can cause serious health problems in humans and animals. Mycotoxins can invade food and feed during production, handling, transportation or storage. Trilogy Testing Laboratory can detect more than 20 kinds of mycotoxins such as aflatoxin, fumonisin, ochratoxin and deoxynivalenol.
The mycotoxin analysis methods we perform include:
■ High performance liquid chromatography
■ Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry
■ Thin layer chromatography TLC method
■ Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay
The types of mycotoxins that can currently be analyzed and detected include: ■ Aflatoxins: aflatoxin B1, aflatoxin B2, aflatoxin G1, aflatoxin G2,, total aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2 ■ Type A/B trichothecenes:
T-2 toxin, HT-2 toxin, Diacetoxyscirpenol (diacetoxyscirpenol) Neosolaniol, DON deoxynivalenol, 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol, (3 Acetyl DON) 5-acetyldeoxynivalenol, (15 Acetyl DON) Nivalenol, Fusarenon-X
■ Fumonisins: fumonisin B1 (fumonisin B1), fumonisin B2 (fumonisin B2)
■ Zearalenone (zearalenone), ochratoxin A (ochratoxin A)
■ Citrinin (Citrinin), patulin (patulin)
Mycotoxin testing services can be provided for the following products:
■ Raw grains (such as cereals, corn, soybeans, etc.)
■ Feed and raw materials (such as soybean meal, corn, pet food)
■ Food raw materials (including starch, rice protein, corn protein, wheat gluten, grain and oil, flour, soybean products, etc.)
■ Grain processed products Food and feed composition analysis: Food and feed additives are diverse. Organic acids, sugars and alcohols are commonly used additives, and their uses are also different. Trilogy Laboratory can provide testing services for organic acids, sugars and alcohols for the brewing, juice, food and feed industries.
Change to: Trilogy Testing Laboratory can provide testing services for organic acids, sugars and alcohols for the brewing, juice, food and feed industries.
◆ Quantitative analysis of organic acids: including malic acid, citric acid, acetic acid, lactic acid, pyruvic acid, etc. ◆ Quantitative analysis of sugars and alcohols: mainly lactose, D-galactose, glucose, fructose, sucrose, starch, ethanol, mannitol, glycerol, etc.
◆ Analysis of other substances: ammonia, urea, ketone bodies, carnitine, dietary fiber, sulfite, sulfur dioxide, heavy metals iron and copper.
Mold identification Mold identification can detect, isolate and identify potentially dangerous molds and yeasts present in a variety of beverages, foods, feeds, grains and paper products. Early identification is also one of the means to prevent the production of mycotoxins and control them from the source. Beijing Trilogy Testing Technology Co., Ltd. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay detection is fast, but its accuracy is not very good.
