Analysis of Common Problems in DDG Moisture Determination
DDG Moisture Determination Problems
When using the national standard 103°C oven method to measure the moisture of DDGS, it is very difficult to get parallel results, and the parallel difference is very large. What should I do?

In my opinion, the main considerations are as follows: 1. How uniform is the sample? 2. Is the weighed sample weight basically consistent? 3. Is the thickness in the drying dish uniform? 4. Where is the drying dish placed in the oven?
--------------------------------------
DDG has a relatively high oil content. Try drying at 103°C for two hours.

The weighing bottle specification should be suitable, the sample thickness should be uniform, and sampling should be representative.

Thank you both for your replies.
The weighed sample amounts are basically consistent, the thickness is also uniform, and the positions of the parallel samples are together as well.
Could it be a sample uniformity issue?
Try 2h

Could the oil have oxidized? After DDGS is dried, it turns dark brown.
--------------------------------------
It is precisely because DDG contains oil. If the temperature is too high and the drying time is too long, it is also prone to the false appearance of excess moisture~~
