Apart from mechanical damage caused by humans, most cases are caused by rust infection. Rust belongs to the group of heteroecious fungi, alternating between hosts such as pear and apple, and is a widespread disease in our country.
Control methods: 1. If fruit trees such as pear and apple are present within 8 km, integrated control should be applied; otherwise, it cannot be eradicated because of the alternate-host relationship. 2. Remove and wash off the gummy material and bury it deep. 3. Spray Bordeaux mixture at 1:0.5:160, once every 5-7 days, for 2-3 consecutive applications, which has an inhibitory effect.
