Is the seedling stage of Chinese juniper too long? Mastering these methods can shorten it

General News 0 views
What methods can shorten the seedling stage of Chinese juniper?
For Chinese juniper (Juniperus chinensis) cuttings, it generally takes more than a year to root and survive, but with full-light vermiculite cutting propagation, roots can form in 4 to 5 months, greatly shortening the seedling stage. The method is: in early summer, cut semi-lignified branches from the base, about 15 cm long, and remove the lower leaves of the branch, leaving a few top leaves to promote transpiration. To promote rooting, dip the base of the cutting 2 to 3 cm into a 500 mg/kg naphthaleneacetic acid solution, remove after 12 to 36 hours and air-dry, then insert into a prepared vermiculite bed to a depth of three fingers; stop watering on rainy days. After cutting, as long as the water supply is normal, no shading or management is generally needed. In this way, roots will form by late October, and the plants can be removed from the vermiculite bed and planted in the field.
