Let us begin this seminar with warm applause (applause) 2. First, on behalf of the Purina company, let me extend a warm welcome to all of you for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend our swine farming technology seminar. (Turn page). Before the meeting begins, let me introduce the guests who have come to attend today's meeting. (Order: (1) Political figures and notable persons. (2) Customers (direct users). (3) Branch stores and dealers. (4) Company colleagues.) (Turn page) 3. Many of you may have heard of Purina, and many still do not know about it. Let me explain why Purina feed is the world's number one? (Turn page) 4. We know that the feed we use today is complete feed. Today, there are still many companies that have launched new products, extruded feed. The world's first company to produce complete feed and extruded feed was Purina. Purina was also the first company to add vitamins, amino acids and veterinary drugs to feed. This shows that Purina was the earliest to engage in the feed business. Today there are still some companies that claim they are earlier than Purina, but none of them started out in the feed industry. In the feed industry, Purina was the earliest. 5. Being merely the earliest does not qualify one as "number one"; number one means being the best in every respect. (Turn page) Let us look: so far, whose feed technology is the most advanced? Tell me, which feed manufacturer in Shandong Province has the best quality? (Ask a question, wait for the audience to answer) Purina. In fact, what we use today is technology that was used in South Korea 30 years ago. We still have many advanced technologies, but given the current level of domestic economic development, they cannot be accepted. Purina is not only advanced in technology; its feed sales volume, up to now, has always been the largest in the world. Total worldwide sales are more than 12 million tons. You know that the Chia Tai Group, with the largest domestic sales volume, has only 5 million tons in sales. Of course, because the technology is advanced, the quality is also the best, as everyone just acknowledged. Here I should say one thing: good goods command a good price, so our price is also the most expensive in Shandong. Why does Purina possess the most outstanding technology? Because at our technical headquarters in the United States we have more than 50 experts conducting research in various areas. Almost every 10 years or so, a whole new set of technology is introduced, leading the new trends in the livestock industry. Tell me, does Purina count as the world's number one? 6. I have just briefly introduced the Purina company. Now let me introduce to you the meaning of the Purina trademark (turn page). As you can see on our packaging bags, our ties, and so on, the trademark appears everywhere. You can see that the base color of our trademark is white, which represents purity and integrity. On the white there are six red squares; red represents enthusiasm and positivity, and the right angles represent correctness. You can see that the arrangement between the squares is very harmonious, representing a kind of harmony among the company, dealers and users. 7. Having introduced the company and the trademark, I would like to venture to ask everyone: "Why have you come to attend today's meeting?" (Turn page) (Ask and answer your own question) 8. Because for a common goal, (turn page) ---- to reduce costs and increase benefits, we have come together! 9. First, let us look at the history of Purina's swine research (turn page). The Purina company is different from other feed companies. It is not solely in the feed business; for the benefit of our vast number of users, our company has conducted specialized research on swine from the very beginning, and to this day this research has never stopped. The Purina company began producing pig feed in 1917 and continued to 1950. It was the first in the world to manufacture extruded feed, and we were the earliest to promote pig drinkers. 10. Looking back, let us again look at the purpose of raising pigs (turn page). Ten years ago, most people raised pigs to accumulate manure. In the past 10 years, except for 1996 and 1997, most people did it to exchange small change for larger bills. But do you know that the pig farming industry can make money (give examples)? If, like *** village, we make money through pig farming (turn page), how should we go about it? 11. Pause. That is the "Four-Element Plan" proposed by the Purina company after many years of research on pig farming (turn page). 12. For the pig farming industry, within the Four-Element Plan, breed, management, disease prevention and nutrition are all indispensable. Let us introduce them one by one below: 13. First let us look at breed (turn page). Like farming the land, we all know that nowadays to plant corn you have to go out and buy seed. Why don't we keep our own seed? Because keeping your own seed does not give a high yield. Raising pigs is the same. Let us look at the difference between purebred lean pigs and local pigs. (Turn page) 14. Let us look: because lean pigs grow fast. Of course, they only grow fast if they eat good feed. Just as good corn varieties today must have good fertilizer, lean pigs can reach 200 jin 45 days earlier than local pigs. Because lean pigs need 2 jin 7 liang of feed to gain 1 jin, while local pigs need 3 jin of feed to gain 1 jin. Of course, lean pig feed is better, and each jin costs 5 fen more, but all told, on feed you can save 61 yuan. Now there is a phenomenon: many pigs are trafficked by traders to the south to be sold. They openly say they want lean pigs. Even if local pigs are 1 mao cheaper, they still don't want them. From this there is another difference of 20 yuan. All told, just because the breed is different, one pig differs by 81 yuan, and how much can we earn from raising one pig? So some people make money raising pigs, and some people lose money raising pigs. Speaking of breed, everyone knows that when you raise a sow you hurry to find a boar to service her. Generally the boar is no problem; the key lies with the sow. The sow had best be large and a crossbred pig. 15. Next let us talk about management (turn page). The basic points of management can be simply summarized as the three basic points of "eat full, drink enough, live comfortably." These three points are very easy to state, but truly putting them into practice is relatively difficult. First is filling the pig's stomach, which counts as the first layer. There are many things that can fill a pig's stomach, for example grass bran, water, and so on. Many people see the pig's belly get big and the stomach filled and say the pig has eaten its fill. But the pig still roots at the ground, fusses everywhere, and squeals. In fact the pig has not eaten its fill. A pig that has truly eaten its fill sleeps 80% of the day. (By the way, explain the matter of sleeping pills.) How can we say what counts as eating full? Please look at the following diagram: in order to grow, the following kinds of things are needed: amino acids, energy, trace elements, minerals, vitamins, growth promoters. Only when all of these are eaten in sufficient amounts can the pig sleep; otherwise, the pig roots at the wall and squeals. (By the way, explain additives.) Even if the pig does not grow, in order to stay alive it needs a basic amount, which we call the maintenance requirement; that is this part (point to the lower layer in the diagram). Then what it eats beyond that is for growing meat. A pig's basic requirement is fixed; if it is less, the pig cannot survive. But a pig's feed intake often fluctuates, that is, the portion supplied for growth often fluctuates. So the pig's growth rate is sometimes fast and sometimes slow. How can it grow the fastest? Only by eating the fullest. However, because a pig's stomach capacity is limited, many of us use improper methods when feeding pigs (criticize: the thin-slop feeding method and the method of adding grass meal to feed). So the pig is always not fed to fullness. That is why our pigs grow slowly. Everyone please look (bring out the demonstration and explain the feeding method using Purina feed). Only in this way can the pig grow the fastest. Only by mixing feed completely according to the formula recommended by the Purina company and feeding according to the procedure can the pig be considered to have eaten its fill. Feeding grass meal and thin slop, the pig cannot eat its fill. Next let us talk about drinking enough. What counts as drinking enough? Everyone knows that as long as the pig stops drinking, the pig has drunk enough. Then how can you know the pig has stopped drinking? (You may ask a question, then explain.) Many people say it is very simple: if the pig stops drinking, it is not thirsty. We all know that pigs love cleanliness. If the water in the trough is dirty, we people would not want to drink it either, and the pig will not drink it either. But at this time the pig is thirsty, and then the pig will not grow well, so the trough must always be kept clean, and it is best to install automatic drinkers. South Korea had already promoted automatic drinkers in the 1950s. Next let us talk about living comfortably. Many people think pigs do not need any good environment, but in fact this is not so, especially in winter. We know that pigs grow best in spring and autumn, while in winter pigs basically do not grow, but in winter pigs also consume feed, so if you do the accounts, in winter you would rather give the pigs a fire stove than rely on feed to generate heat, which is the least appropriate. In winter cover with plastic sheeting. In summer it is best to plant things like loofah for shade, to keep the pigs cool. Only when the pig lives comfortably can it grow fast, can it turn feed into meat, and can we make money. In a word, let the pig eat full, drink enough, and live comfortably. With nothing else to do, it will just grow hard there, and only then can we earn more money a day earlier. 16. Next let us talk about disease prevention (turn page). In fact, the environment in which pigs grow is the same as for all of us; the environment contains all kinds of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, parasites, and so on. There is a very old Chinese saying: "With ten thousand strings of family wealth, those with hair do not count," meaning that things with hair are unreliable, and that overnight ten thousand strings of family wealth may come to nothing, so those with hair do not count. Unfortunately pigs also grow hair. Although the hair is not much, it is also very dangerous. Let us look at the pig's living environment (point to the diagram). Under normal circumstances, the pig's body and the pigpen are covered with all kinds of bacteria and viruses. More than 90% of them will not make the pig sick, but they will consume the pig's nutrients, so the pig cannot grow fast. It is like farming the land: if too much grass grows, the crops will not grow. By the same principle, if the number of microorganisms is large, more nutrients are consumed, the pig grows more slowly, and it also gets sick (the main cause of piglet diarrhea). So the first thing to do in disease prevention is disinfection (like tap water in the city). Generally speaking, with 1 mao of medicine for disinfection, the pig can produce 1 yuan of profit, so disinfection is the most economical practice. For certain virulent infectious diseases, such as swine fever and disease No. 5, vaccines are available on the market. The key is to vaccinate at a certain timing. As for when is best, our company has specialized disease prevention procedures that will be provided to everyone after the meeting. 17. At the end of the Four-Element Plan, we come to nutrition. We know that whether a pig is willing to grow and how efficiently it uses feed depend, besides the three factors above, very much on the nutritional composition of the feed and the amount of its content (turn page). Let us look at our traditional feeding method: what is the feed cost? (Calculate according to the script in a question-and-answer manner) 18. Now let us look at what the feed cost is when feeding pigs with Purina feed (calculate according to the script based on the demonstration materials and users, arranged in advance). Why is this so? When Purina feed is mixed into complete feed, each jin of feed is even more expensive than local feed, but growing to 140 [jin] is actually cheaper. Let us look at the basic principles of feed (turn page). 19. We know that the whole science of feed can be simply and vividly compared to a wooden barrel, in which various nutritional elements such as energy and various amino acids -- by the way, amino acids alone number more than 20 kinds -- various vitamins -- the vitamins animals need number 14 or 15 kinds -- and trace elements, seven or eight kinds: calcium, phosphorus and other minerals, chlorine, sodium, potassium and other ions. The more than 50 nutritional elements above form a kind of balance, just like a wooden barrel. If any stave making up the barrel is short, it holds less water. If the content of any nutritional element is low, the animal grows slowly and the feed-to-meat ratio rises. After more than 100 years of research, the Purina company has different software formula systems for pigs, chickens, cattle, fish, and so on. Input various raw materials (corn, soybean meal, etc.) into the computer, and it can immediately calculate a formula with comprehensive and balanced nutrition. By the way, because Purina has this technology, the various raw materials in the feed change frequently, so the color and smell of the feed often change, but the Purina company guarantees that the nutritional cost of the feed, in other words, the effect of growing pigs, will not change. Some small companies, because they lack technology like Purina's, change raw materials casually, so their quality is very unstable. In addition, for several key nutritional components in feed, energy and amino acids, Purina, after more than 100 years of research, has developed new evaluation systems for them, namely net energy and available amino acids. So you see, sometimes the crude protein content listed on our label is not high, but the effect of growing pigs is very good; the reason lies here. 20. (Turn page) All right, after this period of introduction, I believe everyone now understands Purina's Four-Element Plan. You need only raise pigs according to the "Four-Element Plan," and you will certainly have higher returns. Thank you, everyone!

It really is very detailed.

Does the original poster have slides?!!!!!!! I want them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------
It would be even better if made into slides.
--------------------------------------
Why didn't the original poster organize it? The order is rather messy.
--------------------------------------
Learned something. There are rarely opportunities like this to see how other companies give their lectures.

Who dug out my materials from back then and put them here?
--------------------------------------
Purina's feed is just good, especially the gestation and lactation feed. The nursery feed and piglet feed are also very good, while the mid-pig and large-pig feed is average.
--------------------------------------
Why post so much?? Promotional material, huh! Still, it's very detailed, a bit interesting!
--------------------------------------
Very detailed, not bad, the work is well done.

Mid- and large-pig feed can also be done well, in fact
