What are the methods for determining the saponified matter content of oils and fats?
Determination of saponified matter content in oils and fats
May I ask everyone: the unit for saponified matter content is %, what level is reasonable?
--------------------------------------
As I recall, it seems to be 96%.
--------------------------------------
I'd also really like to know, looking forward to an expert's guidance?

I've never heard of saponified matter content in oils and fats; oils and fats should not contain soap!
Is the original poster perhaps asking about the saponification rate of oils and fats? If so, it should be above 96%. Unsaponifiable matter should be less than 1%.
--------------------------------------
You mean the saponification rate, right? The higher the better! Of course, it varies slightly with different oils and fats.

GB5533-85 Inspection of vegetable oils - Methods for determination of saponified matter content
Source: compiled by this site Date: 2003-9-13
National Standard of the People's Republic of China Inspection of vegetable oils Methods for determination of saponified matter content GB 5533-85 Inspection of vegetable oils Methods for determination of saponified matter content This standard applies to the determination of the saponified matter content of commercial vegetable oils. The saponified matter content in oils and fats refers to the amount of saponified matter remaining in the oil after alkali refining (calculated as sodium oleate).1 Instruments and utensils 1.1 Conical flask: 250ml; 1.2 Measuring cylinder;1.3 Microburette;1.4 Constant-temperature water bath;1.5 Electric furnace;1.6 Beakers, reagent bottles, etc.; 1.7 Analytical balance: sensitivity 0.0001g; 1.8 Balance: sensitivity 0.01g.2 Reagents2.1 Petroleum ether: boiling point 60-90°C;2.2 95% neutral ethanol;2.3 0.2% methyl red ethanol solution; 2.4 0.02N sulfuric acid solution; 2.5 Anhydrous sodium carbonate. 3 Operating method Weigh about 10g (W) of the mixed sample, pour it into a dry conical flask, add 10ml of ethanol and 60ml of petroleum ether, shake to dissolve the sample, then slowly add 80ml of distilled water at 80°C, shake to form an emulsion, add 3 drops of methyl red indicator, and while hot add 0.02N sulfuric acid solution drop by drop, shaking after each drop, until the solution below the separation layer shows a faint red color.4 Calculation of results The saponified matter content of oils and fats is calculated according to the following formula: V × N × 0.304 Saponified matter content (%) = ───────── × 100 W Where: V--volume of sulfuric acid solution consumed in titration, ml; N--equivalent concentration of the sulfuric acid solution; W--sample weight, g; 0.304--grams of sodium oleate equivalent to each milliequivalent of sulfuric acid. The allowable difference between duplicate test results shall not exceed 0.02%, and the average shall be taken as the determination result. The determination result is taken to the second decimal place. ---------------------------------Additional notes: This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. This standard was drafted by the Grain Storage and Transportation Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce. Teacher, are you familiar with feed-grade mixed oil?
I want to conduct a safety status survey of feed-grade mixed oil (I am a research student).
Right now I'm just at the preliminary stage of consulting materials.
Do you understand the processing flow of mixed oil?
Thank you, master haha

Hehe, I'm not a master, but I've been engaged in feed oil processing for more than ten years, and I'm also very happy to communicate with you. QQ 859968416

Let me ask you, which heavy metals commonly exceed the standard in feed oils and fats? Thank you haha~
--------------------------------------
90-120 or so.. I think.. Nowadays everyone does TBA
--------------------------------------
TBA is only applicable to animal fats
Measuring vegetable oils is not accurate.
--------------------------------------
As I recall, it seems to be 96%.
