Comprehensive Analysis of the Classification and Nutritional Value of Cassava
Analysis of the Classification and Nutritional Value of Cassava
II. Classification
(1) Can be divided into 3 categories according to variety
1. Bitter cassava: higher starch content than sweet varieties, contains more hydrocyanic acid, mostly used for feed and starch extraction;
2. Sweet cassava: for food;
3. Lilanera: a newly bred variety containing relatively high protein (7.25%).
(2) Can be divided into 2 categories according to processing method
1. Cassava with peel
2. Peeled cassava
(3) Can be divided into 4 categories according to appearance
1. Cassava chips: cassava is first sliced and then sun-dried. Product specifications designated by Thai exporters: moisture<14%,纤维<6%,灰分<5%,淀粉>70%, length 4-5 cm.
2. Cassava chunks: composition and production method the same as above, but thicker and longer, with a length of about 12-15 cm.
3. Cassava pellets: for ease of handling, transportation and product consistency, cassava is pelletized, with a diameter of about 1 cm, a length of 2 cm, and a pelletizing temperature generally around 80 degrees. Sometimes, to reduce dust, oil or fat can be sprayed after pelletizing for better quality. The specifications set by Thai exporters are: moisture<13%,纤维<5%,淀粉<65%,含粉率<20%,硬度>14kg。
4. Cassava meal: mostly the residue from making chips or chunks, and also made by drying the residue after producing cassava starch, containing 55-60% starch, with quality much poorer than the aforementioned products.
The above is excerpted from Hong Ping's work.
I do not know how the current value of dried cassava and corn is assessed, that is, how much is the nutritional value of dried cassava equivalent to that of corn??????
--------------------------------------
I hope an expert who understands this can give some guidance on the usage amount and precautions for cassava in livestock and poultry feed. I would be very grateful.
--------------------------------------
Cassava is a cost-effective energy feed, so why does no one pay attention to it?
--------------------------------------
If too much cassava is used, it will cause poisoning, affect palatability, and also affect pelletizing.
--------------------------------------
Friend above, cassava is now commonly used all over the world. The poisoning problem you mentioned does not exist.
--------------------------------------
Just passing by to learn, thank you.
--------------------------------------
Compared with corn, the energy value of cassava is only about 91% that of corn, while its crude protein, phosphorus, lysine, methionine and other indicators are all lower than those of corn. Based on comprehensive calculation, under current market conditions, the nutritional value of dried cassava is 1026 yuan/ton, equivalent to 57% of corn (1800 yuan/ton).
If only energy and crude protein are considered (not calculating P, Lys and Met), then the value of dried cassava is 1131 yuan/ton, equivalent to 63% of corn.
Please discuss, do you agree??
