How to identify adulterated rapeseed meal? Sharing practical methods
Adulterated rapeseed meal
Recently we received a batch of rapeseed meal, CP 35.5%. Under the microscope, besides rice husks, there were also some glass-like substances; I don't know what they are. Also, has anyone seen rapeseed meal with CP 41%? Thanks.
--------------------------------------
So far, I haven't seen it; it's usually 38!
--------------------------------------
Why not post a few pictures for everyone to see!
I've never seen rapeseed meal with 41 protein.
--------------------------------------
Recently there have also been reports in our area of rapeseed meal with 40 protein
The reason hasn't been figured out yet.
--------------------------------------
The glass-like substance under the microscope may be a substance like ammonium salt. We have encountered such rapeseed meal; near-infrared GH alarm 45. Absolutely must not be used
--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
People's adulteration level is now far higher than our detection level. We must continuously improve our testing level and keep pace with the times
--------------------------------------
Your rapeseed meal protein is actually within an acceptable range
But in your description
The glass-like stuff makes it feel very abstract
What color is it?
Is the amount large or not?
Based only on the literal description
I guess it might be leather powder or blood meal
But these things all add protein
Your rapeseed meal protein is not high
Personally, I suggest you refer to indicators such as ash
--------------------------------------
Your equipment is really good, enviable. With such good equipment, quality is even more guaranteed
--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
The presence of rice husks does not necessarily mean adulteration
But pay attention to whether the amount is large or small
What protein level was stipulated in your contract?
--------------------------------------
The CP acceptance standard for rapeseed meal is 37.0%, but currently supply is tight. If it is not adulterated, we can only accept it as a concession.

Under the microscope, a small amount of rice husks and glass-like substances can also be seen. These glass-like substances are colorless and transparent, with angular edges, and the amount is not too much, just like broken glass. I don't know why rice husks are often seen in rapeseed meal.
