Factors affecting the palatability of premixes and methods for improvement
Premix palatability
Recently, customers have reported that the premix our company produces has poor palatability. Can anyone say what the reason is?
--------------------------------------
Is it for pigs or chickens? Probably for pigs. Take a look at bacitracin zinc and copper sulfate.
--------------------------------------
Could it be a problem with the macro ingredients?
With premixes, as long as your formula deviation is not very large and no mistakes occur in production, it is very difficult for there to be any major change in palatability!
--------------------------------------
Some additives do affect palatability. You can screen them and do a comparison test. We encountered this once; with a test it became very obvious which one the pigs liked to eat and which one they did not.
--------------------------------------
I have never seen anyone raise the issue of premix palatability. Is it a problem with the carrier, or a problem with the recommended formula, or a problem with some raw materials in certain markets? Or is it that the amount of some raw material in the premix used the wrong unit or order of magnitude?
--------------------------------------
There are too many things in a premix. It may be the effect of some drugs, it may be the effect of the quality of some raw materials, and it may also be a palatability problem with some other special additives.
--------------------------------------
I would like to know what prices your premixes are and which types you have.
