Several key "three days" to pay special attention to in pig farming
There are many very critical "three days" in the pig farming process, and strengthening feeding management during these periods will greatly improve production efficiency.
1. Three days after mating: The three days after mating are a critical period for egg fertilization and the division of fertilized eggs. If the sow's metabolism is excessive at this time, some fertilized eggs will die, thereby reducing the litter size. Therefore, within three days after mating, the sow must absolutely not be overfed. The daily feed amount should be 1.5-1.8 kg, and must not exceed 2 kg at most.
2. Three days after farrowing: For newborn piglets, the feeding management during the three days after farrowing is crucial, because many injury and death incidents in pig farming occur during this stage, such as freezing to death, frostbite, being crushed to death, dying of disease, etc. In order to reduce the death and injury rate of piglets during these three days, the following tasks should be done well: 1) Properly assist with farrowing and keep warm and moisture-proof. 2) Let newborn piglets promptly drink colostrum to enhance disease resistance. 3) Fix the teats. This is an important measure to reduce newborn piglet deaths and improve the uniformity of the piglet group. 4) Promptly supplement iron and selenium to prevent selenium deficiency and anemia. 5) Restore the sow's body condition and prevent postpartum infection.
3. Three days after weaning: This is the period when weaned piglets suffer the most severe stress: the food they eat changes from liquid milk to solid feed, they leave the care of the sow, and because the sow is driven away, the barn temperature drops greatly and maternal antibodies stop being supplied. Each of the above stresses will have a very adverse effect on piglets and become a trigger for disease. Reducing stress is the key to helping piglets wean smoothly. Drug prevention is an effective auxiliary measure to prevent secondary infection in piglets. Comfortable environmental conditions and high-quality feed are the guarantee for successful weaning of piglets.
4. Three days after transfer to a new group: The new rearing environment will cause physiological and psychological discomfort in piglets, and disease resistance will also decrease somewhat. After piglets from different litters are grouped together, they will re-establish each one's position in this new group through "contests." At the same time, the piglets' three-point positioning for eating, defecating, and sleeping is also completed during these three days, all of which requires consuming a large amount of energy. To ensure the smooth transfer of piglets to a new group, the following tasks should be done well: 1) Make the environmental temperature before transfer as close as possible to the temperature of the new environment. 2) First feed the original feed for a period of time, and after all conditions of the pig herd have stabilized, gradually switch to fattening-period feed. 3) Strengthen drug prevention to prevent pathogens from taking the opportunity to invade the piglets' bodies. 4) Piglets often fight after being mixed into a group, so for some breeds with relatively strong stress reactions, close attention must be paid to prevention during transfer.

This is good, very practical

It would be even better if the management work for the 3 days before mating and the 3 days before farrowing were also added.
