Five additives beneficial to piglet health
Piglets hold a very important position in the entire growth stage of pigs, and strengthening the nutrition of piglets is very important. This article introduces five additives that are beneficial to piglet health. They are described as follows:

1. Vitamin E and biotin
Research in recent years has shown that using high doses of vitamin E in piglet feed can enhance pig immunity, reduce the mortality rate of weaned piglets, prevent the occurrence of piglet edema disease, and reduce weaning stress in piglets. In practical application, the added amount of vitamin E is 40-60 grams/ton. Biotin mainly acts as a coenzyme, participates in a variety of important metabolisms, can promote piglet growth, and improve feed conversion rate. The biotin currently sold on the market generally has a content of 2%, and the added amount is 30-50 grams/ton, which can achieve relatively good feeding results.

II. Enzyme preparations
Because the digestive function of the piglet gastrointestinal tract is relatively poor and digestive enzymes are obviously insufficient, enzyme preparations need to be added to piglet feed to make up for the deficiencies in the digestive physiology of piglets and improve feed utilization. Compound enzymes such as amylase, protease, lipase, and cellulase are relatively ideal. According to experiments, adding 0.1% compound enzyme to the diet of 35-day-old weaned piglets can increase daily gain by 8% and improve feed conversion rate by more than 35%.

III. Flavoring agents
In order to increase the feed intake of piglets, improve the unpleasant smell in feed, and increase palatability, flavoring agents are usually added to piglet feed, such as American suckling pig aroma and suckling pig treasure. According to reports: adding suckling pig aroma and suckling pig treasure to feed can increase the daily gain of piglets by 10%-18% and increase feed intake by 10%-15%. Flavoring agents are generally 400-500 grams/ton.

IV. Acidifiers
Adding organic acids such as citric acid, fumaric acid, and calcium formate to piglet feed can reduce the pH value of feed and the gastrointestinal tract, promote piglet growth and development, improve feed utilization, control the reproduction of harmful microorganisms, and effectively prevent the occurrence of piglet diseases. According to reports, adding 1.5%-2% fumaric acid to piglet feed can increase the daily gain of piglets by 8%, increase feed intake by 5.2%, and improve feed utilization by 4.4%. Adding 1-1.5% calcium formate to the diet of piglets can increase daily gain by 2.8%-4.9%, and at the same time can significantly reduce the incidence of piglet dysentery.

V. Microbial preparations
Microbial preparations are a new type of growth promoter, with functions such as maintaining the dynamic balance of digestive tract bacterial species, inhibiting and excluding main pathogenic bacteria such as pathogenic Escherichia coli and Salmonella; increasing lactic acid, stabilizing the pH level of the digestive tract, regulating the balance of electrolytes in the intestine, preventing the occurrence of diarrhea, and improving the immune stress capacity of animals. According to reports: if piglets are directly fed probiotics starting 1-2 days after birth, the survival rate of weaned piglets can be increased by 4-5%. Another report states that adding microbial preparations can increase the survival rate of piglets by 7% and reduce the diarrhea rate by 20%. In practical application, 2-3 kilograms/ton of probiotics can be added to piglet feed.

I learned something, but we are not using flavoring agents and microbial preparations now, and feel the effect is okay.
