Why is it so easy for roses to get spider mites in summer?

Spider mites can be said to be a common disease in summer, and roses are very prone to them, giving many people a headache. Let's take a look at how to solve it! The ones who like roses the most may really not be us, but spider mites. Every summer, these annoying spider mites basically appear on roses. And if you often use one kind of pesticide to control them, resistance easily develops. These spider mites really do deep harm to our roses.
Spider mite outbreaks generally occur in summer, and in a dry environment with temperatures below 35°C, their reproduction speeds up. In a humid environment, reproduction decreases, and after the temperature exceeds 35°C, it also begins to decrease. If they still break out above 35°C, that kind of spider mite is also a mutated, resistant spider mite.
Traditional pesticides are not capable of wiping out spider mites. For example, although abamectin also kills spider mites, it has no effect on killing eggs. Second, after an outbreak, it has basically no effect. Currently, the best active ingredient on the market against spider mites is bifenazate, a safe acaricide that can kill both mites and eggs.
Spider mites generally hide in the soil, especially when overwintering. After early spring arrives, they slowly begin to harm roses, and by summer they break out. So generally, garden cleanup treatment is needed. Some people also like to directly change the soil, which can also effectively prevent spider mite outbreaks.
Of course, there are also some more old-fashioned methods, such as using a sprayer to spray with a large amount of water. This is still okay when they appear in a small area, but it is not very suitable for a large-scale outbreak. Of course, as we said earlier, in a humid environment, spider mites on roses also decrease. So proper spraying is beneficial to the growth of roses.
Alright, if you want to prevent spider mites well, just do as I said. Be sure to choose the right pesticide. If it still is not under control after 2 applications, you need to switch pesticides, otherwise pesticide damage will occur!
