Is apple pomace good for raising beef cattle? The wet kind costs 100 per ton!

We have a large amount of apple pomace here, and I want to use it to fatten beef cattle. I don't know how good the results will be. How does it compare with distillers' grains?
Can an expert please advise on how to feed it? Right now I mainly feed silaged straw, and I read online that the acidity is high!
