Hydroponic flowers and plants are a very popular cultivation method nowadays. They are clean and hygienic, highly ornamental, and can beautifully decorate the home too!

Hydroponic plants are so popular, but anyone who has grown flowers and plants hydroponically knows thatthe water always smells foul with an unpleasant odor. Drop in one of these small tablets, and it becomes sterile and odorless without root rot, improving the ornamental effect too!

This small tablet is metronidazole. Metronidazole tablets can sterilize and disinfect, so take one metronidazole tablet, crush it thoroughly, and pour a quarter of the powder into the water. This can very effectively prevent bacteria from multiplying, prevent the water from smelling foul (by killing anaerobic bacteria in the water), and reduce the buildup of root rot in the flowers!

Moreover, metronidazole is very cheap. A bottle generally costs just a few yuan, and the disinfection and sterilization effect is good. It is so effective for growing flowers!

Tips for Beginners

For many hydroponic plants, a large part of the reason root rot occurs is that the water contains a large amount of bacteria that keep multiplying, causing the roots to rot.

Or using tap water directly, which contains a large amount of chlorine and bleaching powder. Over time, this causes green algae to appear on the vessel, and if not cleaned properly, it can also easily lead to root rot.

So what issues need attention when growing hydroponic plants normally?

For hydroponic plants, if using tap water, let it sit for one to two days before use. This allows the chlorine to evaporate and the bleaching powder to settle, reducing root rot in the flowers and making them grow more vigorously.

Also, when the water becomes contaminated, or many small flying insects fall in, replace the water promptly, otherwise large amounts of bacteria can easily multiply.

In addition, if green algae grows on the vessel, be sure to clean it promptly. You can use a carbendazim solution to disinfect it. After letting it dry thoroughly, add water and start growing again!

So what are the common hydroponic plants? For example, hydroponic pothos, hydroponic pennywort, hydroponic spider plant, hydroponic lucky bamboo, and so on.
