What should be noted when raising centipedes? Don't ignore these key points
1. Do a good job of preventing escape
Centipedes are many-legged animals with extremely strong climbing ability. For pond culture, the four walls must be inlaid with glass, and for cage culture, the cage must be sealed with nylon mesh for feeding.
2. Feeding must be done at fixed times
Because artificial centipede farming involves colony-based feeding, if food is not provided at fixed times, the centipedes will cannibalize each other due to hunger, causing huge losses. Earthworms and yellow mealworms are both foods centipedes love to eat, and they must be fed once every evening.
3. Do a good job of isolating and breeding centipedes that are about to give birth
Before the female centipede lays eggs, it must be separated from the breeding pond in time. After the young centipedes hatch, they should be raised separately according to size specifications in a timely manner, because centipedes have the trait of eating their young, and if not handled properly, the young may be almost completely devoured.
4. Control humidity and temperature well
If raising them indoors, always pay attention to changes in humidity and temperature. If humidity is too low, centipedes are prone to drying out and dying. In summer, with high temperature and high humidity, centipedes are also prone to sudden death. The suitable humidity is between 60-70%. If the temperature is too high, ventilate and dissipate heat in time; if it is below minus 5°C, then appropriate heating is needed.
