Insulation Methods for Keeping White Jade Snails in Winter

   Winter insulation methods for snails:
    (1) Warming overwintering method. In the rearing room, use sawdust or coal briquettes to raise the temperature to between 20-30 degrees, and the water heated should also reach the corresponding or slightly higher temperature, with relative air humidity kept at 70-90%.
    (2) Boiling water insulation method. Simply place a plastic bucket that can hold 1-2.5 kg of boiling water beside the box or between two boxes, screw the lid on tightly, and wrap it with plastic film and cotton batting. Replace the boiling water once in the morning and once in the evening, and the snails can grow and reproduce as usual through the winter; the results are very good.
    (3) Tunnel insulation method. On the eve of overwintering, move the snails into basements, air-raid shelters, mountain caves and other civil defense works for rearing, which can effectively save energy. Outdoors, you can also choose a sheltered, sunny spot or use the terrain, features and solar energy to build a new tunnel-type insulation room; this method of using ground temperature also requires the cooperation of other insulation methods.
    (4) Regulate the air. The overwintering room is small in area and the stocking density is high, which easily makes the indoor air foul, and this is extremely unfavorable to the growth, development and reproduction of the snails. Therefore, pay attention to frequent ventilation and air exchange.
