How to grow Anthurium? These cultivation tips you need to master
Anthurium has thick, emerald-green leaves and clean, lovely, densely clustered, fragrant flowers. It blooms around the Chinese New Year, making it an excellent floral gift for the New Year.
Growing habits: Anthurium is a typical tropical epiphytic orchid. It prefers a high-temperature, well-ventilated climate with ample light. It is drought-tolerant, afraid of excess moisture and cold, and its optimum growing temperature is 22-27°C.
Division propagation: Division can be done year-round, but May to August is best. After dividing and transplanting, spray the branches with New High-Fat Film, which effectively prevents evaporation of moisture from the above-ground parts, reduces transpiration from the plant body, isolates pests and diseases, shortens the recovery period, and results in a higher survival rate. Provide appropriate shade at first planting; once established, place it in strong indirect light or grow it in sunlight.
Growth management: Water and fertilize reasonably according to the plant's needs. In summer, spray the plant with water 1-2 times daily, and additionally apply a foliar feed of 0.2%-0.3% monopotassium phosphate to promote rooting and keep the leaves emerald green. Spraying Zhuangjingling at the appropriate time can make the stems thick and strong, the leaves thick and plump, the leaf color fresh and tender, and the plant lush. Flower buds differentiate in December, and each plant can produce 1-4 flower stems; it blooms in February, at which time watering frequency should be reduced to keep the flowers dry. Spraying Huaduo Zhuangdiling during the bud stage can promote strong buds, plump petals, vivid flower color, rich fragrance, and a longer blooming period. (Yi Feng)
