What are the common feeds for partridges
Partridges are omnivorous birds; in the wild they mainly eat grasses and animal-based foods. Animal-based foods, especially insects, are very important for partridges before 2 weeks of age.

Plant feeds Plant feeds such as corn, wheat, barley, sorghum, rice, millet, wheat bran, rice bran, sorghum bran, soybean cake, peanut cake, cottonseed cake, rapeseed cake, sunflower cake, etc. Soybean cake and peanut cake should not be fed raw; eating too much rapeseed cake can cause erucic acid and glucosinolate poisoning in partridges, so it should be fed after detoxification by heating or other methods, and the amount used must not exceed 3%-5%; cottonseed cake contains free gossypol toxin, so attention must be paid to detoxification and feeding amount; sunflower cake is an ideal plant protein feed.

Animal feeds Animal feeds such as fish meal, silkworm pupa meal, meat and bone meal, feather meal, blood meal, earthworms, etc., contain more protein, amino acids, etc., and have good effects on partridge egg laying and breeding. Blood meal is especially rich in lysine and should not be fed in large amounts, especially during the partridge breeding period it should be used sparingly. Earthworms, fly maggots, yellow mealworms, etc. are high-quality protein feeds for partridges and can replace fish meal.

Mineral feeds Among minerals (i.e. inorganic salts), partridges have the greatest requirement for calcium and phosphorus. Common mineral feeds include bone meal, stone powder, eggshell powder, shell powder, grit, etc. In the diet of young partridges they can account for 1%, and in the diet of adult partridges they can account for 2%-5%.

Vitamin feeds Mainly green feeds, dried grass powder and tree leaf powder, among which green feeds have a wide range of sources and are rich in carotene and trace elements, and have good effects on partridge growth, egg laying and reproduction.

Additives Vitamin additives: vitamins play an important role in the metabolism of partridges. Vitamins must be added to the partridge diet. At present, the most commonly used are poultry multivitamins. Trace element additives: commonly used trace element additives include copper sulfate, cobalt sulfate, manganese sulfate, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, copper carbonate, cobalt carbonate, manganese carbonate, zinc carbonate, ferrous carbonate, copper oxide, cobalt oxide, manganese oxide, zinc oxide, ferrous oxide, potassium iodide and calcium iodate, etc. Trace element additives are added in very small amounts in the diet, about 1-9 grams per 1000 kg of feed. Drug additives: according to the needs of partridges for disease prevention, drug additives such as antibiotics and deworming drugs can be added to the diet.
