Orchids are a famous flower in China, enjoying high fame and status among all herbaceous flowers, and Chinese law explicitly prohibits the private sale of orchids, which also shows that orchids hold a very high status in China. Their elegant and noble bearing has won the affection of many flower lovers, but orchids are also very difficult to care for. Many of us know that every year, the old leaves of an orchid will decline once. If the growth rate of new leaves cannot keep up with the decline rate of the old leaves, then the overall plumpness of the orchid will also become lower and lower!

Today I'll share a little method to make your orchid grow side shoots like crazy, with very strong roots too. An experienced flower lover shared a little method. The method isn't hard, but the effect is quite amazing. The picture below shows the roots a flower lover photographed when repotting an orchid. Doesn't it look delightful:

How did he do it?

Actually, he just used a few willow branches and a look at vitamin B12. Now let's first talk about the principle, then talk about how to make and use it.

Let's explain the principle separately:

1. Willow is a plant with a very strong ability to self-propagate. Flower lovers have probably all heard a saying: "Plant a flower with care and it won't bloom; plant a willow without care and it will flourish" - this explains it very well. In fact, this is all because willow contains very abundant salicylic acid. The effect of salicylic acid is very obvious. It can promote the formation of plant buds and promote plant leaf growth. It is a type of plant hormone!

2. Vitamin B12 not only has a very high possibility of bringing things back to life, but is also a very stimulating liquid that is especially good for roots. It can stimulate root vitality and also promote rooting in flowers and plants, making it very easy to fill the pot the following year. In addition, regularly watering flowers with vitamin B12 can promote robust plants, with thick green leaves, no root rot, and no yellow leaves.

The method of use is as follows:

Take current-year willow branches (because current-year ones contain more abundant salicylic acid). After getting home, remove the leaves and cut the branches into small segments, about 5cm long strips will do. If you have a hammer, it's best to smash the branches!

Find a plastic bottle, put the willow branches in, add a piece of vitamin B12, fill with water and soak.

When you find that the branches in the bottle have all sunk down, you can take the water to water the flowers. It is recommended that flower lovers use it once every 7 days. Stick with it for about a month and you can get good results. Generally, after about 60 days you can see the orchid grow many small side shoots

Isn't it very simple? The effect is also very good! If you want orchids to bloom and fill the pot, you actually also need to pay attention to other care aspects, such as light and watering issues. Let's take a look together

1. Light

There are many varieties of orchids, and most types are afraid of direct sunlight, so attention should be paid to proper shading. In early to mid-April, orchids can get more sunlight to promote their growth.

After late April, proper shading is needed. From June to September, shade should be provided earlier each day. After October, when the weather starts to turn cooler and the sunlight is weaker, shading can be delayed, but around noon, attention still needs to be paid to shading work.

2. Watering

For home cultivation of orchids, natural rainwater, stream water, well water, and river water are best for watering. If using tap water, it should first be stored in a vat and exposed to the sun to remove the bleaching powder before use. If tap water is used to water flowers for a long time, it will gradually make the growing medium alkaline.
