Many gardening enthusiasts not only grow some potted plants at home for ornamental purposes, but also grow some peppers, cherry tomatoes, and the like, so they can eat purely natural produce and save some money too.

Some gardening enthusiasts find that when growing peppers and cherry tomatoes, the fruit is very small and sparse, and the taste is also very different from what you buy at the market. What is going on?

In fact, whether you are growing peppers, cherry tomatoes, or other fruits and vegetables, they all need sufficient nutrients. If you rely only on usual fertilizing and watering, that is not enough. The most important thing is base fertilizer, and it is best to use composted organic fertilizer. In rural areas you can find various kinds of composted organic fertilizer, but in the city you basically cannot find it unless you buy it at the market. So today Hua'er will introduce a homemade "composted fertilizer" to everyone. Bury a little of this homemade "composted fertilizer" for them, and only then can they have lush branches and leaves and fruit hanging all over the branches.

This kind of "composted fertilizer" is made by fermenting okara, and its fertility is very strong. Just bury a little of it and it can continuously provide nutrients to the plants.

Specific method: you can collect the okara filtered out from making soy milk, or directly buy some okara from a tofu shop owner, then put them into a large container bottle (preferably with a lid), then pour in clean water or rice-washing water, with the ratio controlled at 5:1, then add some fruit peels to speed up fermentation and also remove odor. Before putting them in, you need to cut them into pieces. You can tighten it halfway and then directly put it under the sun to bake.

In summer, fermentation can be completed in about 20 days to one month. Filter out the liquid, which can be diluted 50 times to water flowers and plants. Put the remaining composted okara under the sun to bake, turning it appropriately during the process, until it is completely dry, then crush it, and the "composted fertilizer" is done.

Dig a few small holes in the soil around the plants such as peppers and cherry tomatoes, with equal spacing. Pour some "composted fertilizer" into each small hole, then cover it with soil. Each time you water, the fertilizer will mix into the soil and thus be absorbed by the root system, which can make the plants grow quickly and bear fruit.

That is all for the introduction to making homemade "composted fertilizer" for growing peppers and cherry tomatoes.
