An introduction to the steps for fermenting chicken manure into feed using a chicken manure fermentation agent

To make pig feed from chicken manure, it can generally be put in a plastic bag for fermentation.

1.Chicken manure feedprocessing methods.

① Chicken manure collection and preparation. Collect fresh chicken manure, remove all debris, crush it, then add 5%-10% energy feed, such as cornmeal, wheat bran, etc. Yijiayi EM stock solution 0.5-1%.

② Moisture adjustment. The anaerobic fermentation method requires the fermentation material to have a moisture content of about 60%. Fresh wet chicken manure with about 10% wheat bran added can basically reach the 60% requirement. Dry chicken manure needs to be naturally soaked in water for 1 hour, until, when you tightly squeeze the mixed wet chicken manure in your hand, water seeps out between your fingers but does not drip down; this indicates that the water content is basically suitable.

③ Filling. The container used for anaerobic fermentation can be a jar, a cement pit, or a plastic bag. When fermenting in a plastic bag, after filling it with chicken manure, fully expel the remaining air from the plastic bag and tie the bag opening tightly.

④ Fermentation time. When the ambient temperature is 10°C-15°C, fermentation takes 7-10 days. Above 20°C, it takes 3-5 days. At 30°C, it takes only 2 days.

⑤ Points to note. a. Maintain a suitable moisture content, which is required to be about 60%. b. Create an anaerobic environment. When filling the material, it must be compacted layer by layer, especially in corners and edge areas. After filling, seal it tightly to strictly prevent air from entering. If the chicken manure clumps, turns white, and has a musty smell, it means it has already become moldy and cannot be used to feed animals; otherwise it can easily cause disease and even death.

2. Techniques for feeding chicken manure feed to pigs.

① Determine pigs by chickens.

The manure produced by 1,000 laying hens can feed 75 pigs, so the chicken-to-pig ratio is 13:1. If not all the chicken manure can be collected, this ratio should preferably be 13:1-15:1. Modern chicken farming is mostly cage rearing, rearing on wire floors, or deep-litter floor rearing.Chicken manureshould be processed in a timely manner within 24 hours after being excreted, to prevent the chicken manure from spoiling and reducing its nutritional value. After chicken manure is collected and processed by fermentation, it can be used to feed pigs, but attention must be paid to the mixing ratio.

② Mixing of diets containing chicken manure.

When preparing the diet, because chicken manure has a relatively low energy value, in order to balance the diet, more high-energy feed (such as corn) needs to be added to the pig feed. Based on test results, the following recommendations are made for the proportion of chicken manure added: for 20-35 kg growing pigs, chicken manure should account for 8%-10%; for 35-60 kg pigs, chicken manureshould account for 10%-20%; for 60-100 kg finishing pigs, chicken manure should account for 20%-25%. When mixing the diet, it can go through the three stages of checking feeding standards, trial mixing, and adjustment. ③ Example feed formula. Fermented chicken manure 20%, corn 48.43%, wheat middlings 4.63%, wheat bran 19.69%, soybean cake 2.87%, cottonseed cake 3.28%, trace element additive 1%, salt 0.24%, multivitamins 0.01%.
