New method for bullfrog farming in vegetable greenhouses
The bullfrog is a poikilothermic animal and has a hibernation period of 3 to 4 months each year, so bullfrogs can be farmed in vegetable greenhouses in various regions.
Vegetable greenhouse The suitable area is 1 to 2 mu, an ordinary arched greenhouse, longer in the east-west direction, covered with double-layer drip-free plastic film, with celery planted inside the greenhouse, and one water well (tap water is also acceptable). Make straw mats from wheat straw or rice straw, cover the greenhouse with the straw mats at 4 pm every day, and lift them at 9 am the next day so that sunlight can shine into the greenhouse. The straw mats play a heat-preserving role; on cloudy days the straw mats do not need to be rolled up, to prevent the temperature inside the greenhouse from dropping.
Frog pond construction The parent frog pond has an area of 20 sq m and is located in the center of the greenhouse, with a pond depth of 1.5 m and a slope of 1:2.5. Water peanuts and water hyacinths are transplanted in the pond. Twenty days before stocking the parent frogs, disinfect the pond with 20×10-6 bleaching powder. The hatching pond is set beside the spawning pond, with an area of 4 sq m and a pond depth of 0.6 m.
Parent frog stocking Among commercial frogs, select bullfrogs with a body weight of about 500 grams, an age of more than two years, and good sexual maturity as parent frogs, and stock 10 groups per mu, with a female-to-male ratio of 1:1. When the air temperature is 15°C to 18°C, put the parent frogs into the prepared greenhouse.
Feed feeding After March, the air temperature and water temperature in the greenhouse are relatively high, and the bullfrogs have a strong appetite. Feed them twice a day at fixed times, mainly with extruded pellet feed, together with animal feed such as small trash fish, silkworm pupae, and earthworms. Put the feed on the feed trays, and the feeding amount should be such that it is eaten up that day with a slight remainder.
Daily management After the parent frogs enter the greenhouse, in addition to normal vegetable management, frequently add fresh water to keep the water quality fresh. Insist on patrolling the pond every day, keep records of the various environments of the breeding pond, and regularly disinfect the frog pond with quicklime water at a concentration of 10×10-6.
