River snails and loaches grow well in mixed culture without feeding

When river snails and loaches are raised together in mixed culture, there is no need to feed any other feed, and both river snails and loaches can grow normally. This is because river snails can enrich the plankton, protozoa, invertebrates and aquatic plants in the water body, such as rotifers, cladocerans, copepods, chironomid larvae, clams, tubifex worms, etc., and they also produce young snails; all of these are natural feed for loaches, and the feces excreted by loaches are good feed for river snails. In addition to eating loach feces, river snails also prey on benthic invertebrates in the water and aquatic plants such as filamentous algae, diatoms, euglenoids, blue-green algae and golden algae. In mixed culture of river snails and loaches, 100-150 kg of river snails are stocked per mu of fish pond, and 15,000-20,000 loaches are stocked; after 8-10 months of culture, 3,500-4,000 kg of river snails and 2,000-2,500 kg of loaches can be harvested.
