After receiving the bulbs, flower friends can plant them immediately, anywhere is fine, and the method is also very simple!
1. Cleanthe bulbs
Newly bought bulbs will have a layer of dried or rotten outer skin on the surface. Remove the outer skin to reduce the risk of root rot. Clean off the withered roots. Amaryllis roots are white, so keep the healthy roots.
2. Bulbdisinfection
Soak the cleaned bulbs in a 1000-fold diluted carbendazim solution to disinfect, take them out after 10-15 minutes, then place them in a cool, ventilated place to dry.
3. Choose soil
The soil should be loose, breathable, and well-draining. A mix of peat soil, perlite, and vermiculite will do. You can add a little superphosphate to the soil as a base fertilizer.
If flower friends find mixing soil troublesome, you can directly use our special nutrient soil for bulbs, and new leaves and buds will grow very quickly!
4. Potting and planting
After the soil is ready, start planting. When first planted, expose more than half of the bulb, mainly to observe the bulb's growth condition and prevent rot. After planting, water thoroughly immediately and keep the soil moist. When new leaves grow, cover with another layer of soil, leaving 1/2 or 1/3 of the bulb exposed above the surface.
5. Care
After planting, place the flowerpot in a ventilated place with scattered light for care. During this period, keep the potting soil moist and do not fertilize. In about 2 weeks, new buds and leaves will grow, and then switch to full-sun management.
