Joyful Celebration of July 1st, Xiushan in Action

On July 1, 2018, on the occasion of the Party's birthday, the Party branch of the CPC Xiushan County Bonsai and Viewing Stone Industry Association organized 19 celebration vehicles and more than 100 members to hold a series of activities, warmly celebrating the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

Visiting the former residence of a martyr, honoring the revolutionary martyrs. Zhao Shiyan's former residence is located in Longtan Ancient Town, Youyang County, Chongqing. Yang Yi, secretary-general and head of the industry association's Party branch, led the team. Before the solemn and majestic monument, in a serious atmosphere, they renewed the "oath of joining the Party." Afterwards, under the guidance of a docent, they visited the Zhao Shiyan Martyr Exhibition Hall. Beneath the bright red "flame" sculpture, poems by the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries of our country commemorating Zhao Shiyan stood out prominently. It takes ten years to grow trees, but a hundred years to cultivate people. The spirit of the martyrs lives forever in our hearts and is passed down from generation to generation!

The motorcade continued onward to Miaoquan to visit Teacher Liu Chenyun, the bonsai artist who pioneered Xiushan bonsai. The elderly man is 79 years old this year, and for decades he has pursued his bonsai dream as persistently as ever. He not only built his own "Farmers' Paradise," but also turned his neighbor's place into a garden. His persistence and spirit of contributing his remaining energy in his later years are worthy of our admiration and emulation!

Bonsai making and training activities were held at Farmers' Paradise!

A charity fund auction was held by the association at Farmers' Paradise. The auction items included cooking oil, bonsai, viewing stones, fitness balls, purple clay stone pots, fine jade pendants, fine purple clay stone carvings, and more!

An award ceremony was held at Farmers' Paradise. "Farmers' Paradise" was officially designated as a trainee base of the Xiushan Bonsai and Viewing Stone Industry Association. Association leaders presented the "Special Contribution Award" to bonsai seniors Liu Chenyun and Yu Nengxian, and gave commendations and awards to some advanced workers.

Thanks to the kind invitation of a neighboring association, I had the honor of participating in this event, and I was deeply touched and gained much insight. The reason the Xiushan Bonsai Association has been able to develop rapidly is that people from all walks of life have joined in. Unity is strength! This kind of charity auction and charitable deed, done entirely voluntarily, can also inject fresh blood into the association and is worth learning from. The development and growth of bonsai in the Wuling Mountain area cannot be separated from the close unity of bonsai enthusiasts in the Wuling region, and even from the strong support of bonsai enthusiasts all over the country, discussing together the grand plan for Wuling bonsai development and creating together the brilliance of Wuling bonsai!
