Fox Picture Collection: High-Definition Fox Photos to Enjoy

The fox has a slender body, long and thick fur, and a fluffy tail. Most fox species have large, upright, triangular ears. Different fox species have different colors. Their eyes can adapt to darkness, with oval, shining pupils, and they have keen vision, smell and hearing. Most foxes have a pungent odor, released from the scent glands at the base of the tail.
Foxes have long guard hairs and soft, fine underfur. Their coat color is usually a vivid reddish brown or an elegant white. The tail is bushy with a white tip, and the ears and legs are black. The ears are very pointed, and the face resembles that of a dog. There is a glandular sac on each side of the anus that can release a peculiar odor.
Foxes mainly eat rodents and only occasionally attack poultry, so they are animals that do more good than harm. When they pounce on prey, their thick, long tails help them keep their balance, and the white fur at the tail tip can confuse enemies and disrupt their line of sight.
Foxes are found throughout North America, Europe and Asia, including polar regions. They are also distributed in various parts of Africa. Before foxes were introduced to Australia to control rabbit numbers, Australia had no foxes. In China, the red fox is mainly found, distributed across the mainland; the corsac fox is found in **, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, Gansu, Tibet and other places; and the Arctic fox is found in the Arctic region.
