There is knowledge everywhere in bonsai
Original author | Zhang Xianjue
After struggling in bonsai circles for some years, I feel that making bonsai is not difficult. Yes, once you grasp the key, it is not difficult either. What is difficult is surpassing yourself, what is difficult is innovation, what is difficult is seeing the scenery as if seeing the person, what is difficult is embodying bonsai culture. If a thousand pots look the same, aesthetic fatigue sets in.
Not to mention creating bonsai, even just choosing a pot involves plenty of knowledge.
Let us give an example! Take a pot of a forest-style Chinese hackberry from the 9th China Bonsai Evaluation Exhibition as a demonstration!
It is actually a work with a very rich artistic conception, but the pot it is paired with detracts from it.
Based on the scenery, let us pair it with a pot.
Does it look much more dignified?
But it reduces the original work's flavor of wild charm.
Let us change its appearance again.
The curved bottom of the pot seems to limit the openness of the pot surface.
After thinking it over again and again, I still want to pair this forest-style work that I very much love with a proper pot, without losing its wild charm, without becoming stiff, and without losing orthodoxy.
This way it feels more comfortable, though I cannot quite explain why. Let everyone say. The meaning is: there is knowledge everywhere in bonsai, and doing it well really requires using your brain.
When it comes to bonsai matters, we need to talk slowly, talk over the long term, talk together, and talk happily.
Thank you all for your support! It is mainly a matter of time. Getting together to talk more about bonsai is actually quite interesting. I am merely throwing out a brick to attract jade; among bonsai groups there are many masters.
Bonsai friend @Liu Kunquan:The variability of the carrier brings different visual artistic effects! We should choose the one with the best effect among them! It truly requires continuously improving one's own artistic cultivation! Thank you, Boss Zhang, for the guidance!

Effort is a very abstract term. Before you get a result, or when the result is less than satisfactory, you cannot convey to others how hard you have worked. Effort is destined to be a lonely journey through hardship and sweat.
The greatest meaning of effort is perhaps not necessarily reaching the goal, but effort will definitely produce a result of effort. This result affects the direction of things and brings opportunities for transformation. As the saying goes, the harder you work, the luckier you are. People must never forget to work hard at any time; effort is the confidence with which you make demands of this world.
