How much do macaws cost?

The market price of macaws is relatively much more expensive than other parrots. Usually, blue-and-gold macaws cost around 8000-10000 yuan, red-and-green macaws cost over 15000-20000 yuan, scarlet macaws cost around 30000, and there is also the mini macaw (red-shouldered macaw), which is the smallest among macaws and costs no less than 5000 yuan. The above are just ordinary ones; if they can talk and perform tricks, the price is even higher!

Can lovebirds talk?

Lovebirds cannot talk. Generally, birds that can mimic speech (not just human words, but also cat meows, etc.) include African grey parrots, macaws, cockatoos, mynas, and hill mynas. Lovebirds are a small parrot species and cannot mimic speech, but lovebirds can imitate the calls of other birds and animals, as well as sounds they find interesting.

Can budgerigars talk?

Budgerigars can talk. Most small parrots can talk, such as budgerigars, cockatiels, and small conures, all with strong speaking abilities, because parrots have the same vocal cords and sound-producing organs, making them quite suited to producing various sounds. In fact, budgerigars can imitate human speech in the early stages of taming, and many records show they have strong imitation abilities. It is said that in the early 20th century, a budgerigar kept by someone escaped, and because it kept reciting the family's phone number along the way, it was caught and returned. Now this ability has noticeably declined, and it is already hard to find budgerigars that can talk, possibly because under artificial breeding, the pressure to reproduce has decreased, causing the birds' imitation ability to degenerate.

How to best keep budgerigars?

1. Prepare a sturdy, sufficiently large birdcage. The budgerigar's hooked beak is strong and powerful, and it prefers to gnaw on wooden things, so the cage prepared for a budgerigar cannot be made of wood, but needs to be made of sturdy metal wire. Adult budgerigars are relatively large in size, so the cage size prepared should be slightly larger.

2. Budgerigars like to eat seeds with shells. When preparing food for them, you need to consider their preferences and nutritional content, and also make reasonable combinations. For example, you can usually give the parrot millet, broomcorn millet, barnyard grass seeds, Chinese cabbage, shredded carrots, apples, and so on.

3. Budgerigars do not particularly like bathing, and every time it is time to bathe, they are extremely uncooperative, so unless absolutely necessary, you can choose to use a spray to clean the parrot. Budgerigars have a body of brilliant feathers. To ensure the parrot's beauty and feather color, they should not be placed under direct sunlight.

4. Although budgerigars do not like bathing, the hygiene in their birdcage still needs to be cleaned in a timely manner. Generally, clean the bottom of the birdcage once every 5-7 days. The food bowls and water containers in the birdcage need to be cleaned every day to ensure the parrot's feeding utensils are clean and keep it away from harm by bacteria.
