What are the common types of pig feed additives?

1. Pine needle powder

Pine needles contain 19 kinds of amino acids as well as rich carotene, vitamins, trace elements and antimicrobial pine needle antibiotics. Adding 5% pine needle powder to pig feed can increase daily weight gain by 18-30% and shorten the fattening period by 30-60 days.

2. Mirabilite

Adding 0.5-0.6% mirabilite to pig feed increases daily weight gain by 20% and feed utilization by 15%, and the pigs are healthy with few diseases, glossy coat, strong appetite and normal urination and defecation.

3. Kelp powder

Kelp is rich in iodides and minerals, vitamins and active ingredients that stimulate animal growth. Adding 2% kelp powder to pig feed can increase daily weight gain by 23% and feed conversion rate by 13%.

4. Zeolite

Zeolite is a hydrous silicate mineral that contains all the major elements and most of the trace elements necessary for pig growth and development. Adding 1% zeolite powder to pig feed can increase the average weight gain of pigs by 10%.

5. Orange peel powder

Orange peel powder contains a variety of nutrients and can improve animal appetite, promote rapid growth and enhance disease resistance. Adding 5% orange peel powder to pig feed can increase daily weight gain by 12%, reduce feed consumption by 0.28 kg per 1 kg of weight gain, increase feed efficiency by 10.5%, and also somewhat increase carcass weight and net meat weight.

6. Evergreen essence

Evergreen essence contains more than 40 components such as plant antibiotics, plant growth hormones, proteins and vitamins. Adding 3-5 grams of evergreen essence per 100 kg of feed can increase daily weight gain by 20-30%.

7. Silkworm droppings

Adding 5-10% silkworm droppings to pig feed can increase daily weight gain by 10-15% and feed conversion rate by 15-20%, and the pigs grow well with glossy coat, and the occurrence of pig diseases can also be reduced.

8. Copper sulfate

Adding 0.25% copper sulfate to pig feed can increase the daily weight gain of pigs by 16%, increase feed utilization by 5%, and reduce feeding costs by about 4%.

9. Earthworm powder

Add 10-20 grams per small pig per day and 30-50 grams per large pig, feeding only once a day; the daily weight gain of pigs can be increased by 10-15%.

10. Zinc sulfate

Add 10-20 milligrams per small pig per day and 30-50 milligrams per large pig, which can accelerate pig growth, increase appetite, make the coat smooth, and reduce disease and death.

11. Microbial feed additives

Microbial feed additives are feed additives approved by the Ministry of Agriculture.
