As people's living standards rise, more and more people have fallen in love with growing flowers, and most of them keep a foliage plant at home. Plants like pothos, spider plant, money tree and asparagus fern are all favorites among flower lovers; they not only beautify the home but also purify the air. Foliage plants such as pothos, spider plant, money tree and asparagus fern are all fairly easy to grow, yet some flower lovers still leave comments saying they cannot grow these plants well. If you also struggle with these foliage plants, then take a look at the little method shared today: pour its "body fluid" into the pot, and spider plant, pothos... grow like crazy, filling the pot within a month even if you ignore them.

What is this "body fluid" mentioned here, and whose body fluid is it? It is actually the body fluid of willow branches, which can be found everywhere in daily life:

Why is that?

I believe flower lovers have all heard an old saying: a carefully planted flower may fail to bloom, while a casually stuck willow branch may grow into shade.

This saying perfectly illustrates that this plant has an especially strong growth ability; it will almost take root from a casual cutting, rooting quickly and sprouting new shoots quickly. This is all because willow contains a substance called salicylic acid, which is a kind of growth agent, what we often call a "hormone", so it has a very good promoting effect on plant rooting and sprouting.

The method of making and using it is as follows:

Cut several willow branches, remove the leaves after getting home, cut the branches into short sections, smash the bark a little for better results, then soak them in water. When you find that the willow branches have all sunk to the bottom, you can take the water to water your flowers. Foliage plants such as spider plant, pothos, money tree and asparagus fern... all particularly love it, but for plants like clivia and orchids the effect after use is very obvious. After using it several times in a row, you will see them grow new leaves, and generally after one month of use you will see your potted plant fill the pot with growth.

Below, Xiaohua will also share the watering methods for spider plant, pothos, money tree and asparagus fern. I hope you like them!

How to water spider plant and pothos?

For pothos and spider plant, watering should keep the soil moist; never let the potting soil dry out, otherwise it easily causes yellow leaves and a poor shape in pothos. But watering should be moderate; too much water causes waterlogging in the pot, leading to root rot, withered leaves and similar problems.

In winter, when temperatures are low, watering can be controlled, and during the growing season water a little more appropriately. In addition, pay attention to spraying water on the leaf surface to wash away dust, which helps keep the leaves bright and emerald green.

How to water the money tree?

The money tree has strong adaptability to water; generally it will not become drought-stressed whether watered heavily outdoors or left unwatered indoors for more than ten days. Also spray the branches and leaves regularly to increase humidity. In late autumn and winter, pay attention to cold protection and frost protection.

For indoor growing in summer, water once every 5 to 6 days; in spring and autumn, water once every 7 to 10 days. In winter it depends on room temperature: if the room temperature is around 12°C, watering once a month is enough.

How to water asparagus fern?

We cannot water at will; we should wait until it dries out before watering, and once we water, it must be watered thoroughly. In the relatively dry spring and summer, we can just spray the leaves, so the humidity will also be higher, and new shoots growing is only natural.
