Jasmine cuttings are simple and easy to learn, and one cutting soon grows into a big pot

Substrate: a well-aerated substrate; cutting: a 10cm-long stem that has already flowered, keep 2 leaves cut down by 1/2; rooting: take cuttings from May to October, leave 1/3 of the stem inside the substrate, and place the whole thing in a water basin; care: keep in a cool, well-ventilated place; transplanting: plant the stem together with the substrate into potting soil, and once it has recovered, grow it as normal.
1. Prepare the substrate
Choose a loose, well-aerated substrate; you can use coarse vermiculite or river sand, perlite, and slightly acidic sandy soil. Choose a container with holes in the bottom, such as a plastic bottle, so it is easy to punch holes in the bottom.
2. Select the cutting
Choose a one-year-old stem that has already flowered, cut a stem at about 10cm, and keep 2 leaves. If the leaves are too large, you can trim off 1/2 of the leaf as appropriate to reduce water evaporation and photosynthesis, store up nutrients for the cutting, and increase the rooting success rate. The stem must keep more than 2 nodes, and new shoots will grow from here after potting.
3. Rooting process
Cuttings can be taken from May to October, keeping the temperature at 20-25°C; under suitable temperatures, the survival rate can be guaranteed. Before rooting, make a hole in the center of the substrate, place the stem in the hole, leave 1/3 inside the substrate, and gently press the substrate around the stem with your fingertip. After rooting, water thoroughly, and place the small pot in a water basin with 1-2cm of water.
4. Care and management
You can take several cuttings at once, and after rooting, place them in a cool, well-ventilated place. Since there are no roots yet, there is no need to fertilize at this time. After 30-40 days, when you see white roots filling the pot and the stem gradually growing new shoots, the plant has survived.
5. Transplanting
When the sunlight is not strong, such as in the evening, fill a flower pot with soil, poke a hole in the center, plant the stem together with the substrate into the potting soil, cover the roots with a thin layer of soil, let it recover for 2-3 days, and then it can be placed in the sun for normal care.
